1. Predictive Validity of Personal Statements and the Role of the Five-Factor Model of Personality in Relation to Medical Training

Neither the personal statement information categories nor the amount of information in personal statements were found to be predictive of future performance. Both previous academic performance and conscientiousness from the five-factor model were related to success in medical training and conscientiousness also demonstrated incremental validity over previous academic performance.
